   Ferrovit-C is of vital importance for the production of hemoglobin (red blood cells), myoglobin (the red pigment of the muscles) and some enzymes. Only about 8% of the total taking of ferrum is absorbed and permeated in the blood flow. An aged person of an average weight of 68 kg has about 4 g of ferrum in his organism. The hemoglobin, which uses the larger part of the ferrum, is recycled and again used to replace the blood cells at intervals of 120 days. The ferrum, bound with protein (ferritin), stores in the organism in very small quantities, like the ferrum in the tissues (available in the mioglobin). The daily dosage is 10-15 mg for adults and 30 mg for pregnant women and athletes. Within a month women lose twice as much ferrum as men. For the assimilation of ferrum in the organism the following elements are necessary copper, cobalt, manganese and vitamin C. Ferrum is essential for the proper metabolism of B-vitamins. 

   Positive effects: It helps the growth; increases the resistivity of the organism; cures and prevents anemia caused by ferrum deficiency. It restores the good tone of the skin.

   Diseases with ferrum deficiency: Anemia.

   Toxicity: Similar effect is rarely observed in healthy organisms. Overdosage can be risky for children. People with idiopathic chromatosis manifest a larger risk (genetically conditioned) of excessive levels of ferrum.

   Incompatible with: the egg phospho-proteins and the phytates in the unleavened whole grain cereals reduce the presence of iron in the organisms.

   Recommendations: If you take aspirin every day , you will possibly need more ferrum. The regular consumption of large quantities of coffee and tea most likely reduces the absorption of ferrum.
